The Ultimate Tooth & Nail Tour

Postby ClintMayo1042 on Sat Jul 10, 2010 3:08 pm

I saw Emery recently (it was awesome.. of course). It got me thinkin...

"It would be cool if they came through with Ivoryline next time... and maybe The Classic Crime... throwin in Secret & Whisper in there too!"

It occurred to me that this was very possible.. it could be a Tooth & Nail Tour, if they decided to bring that back. This is the idea for what I would like my Tooth & Nail Tour to be.

But.... what if we could go back in time, take our favorite T & N bands of all-time and form the ULTIMATE TOOTH & NAIL TOUR.

On a typical Tooth & Nail Tour they would have 4 bands on the whole tour, and two other openers. One for the first half of the tour, and one for the second half.

My Openers:
Bleach - For the first half... they would probably decide to break up again halfway through the tour anyways. Classic band though.
Ivoryline - They have only had one album, so it seems fitting that they could open.

Legitimates:

Ace Troubleshooter - I loved them. Didn't quite catch on with everyone else.. but it's my tour!

The Classic Crime - What else is there to say? Albatross was strong, and The Silver Cord was rather ambitious, and it worked pretty well. One of my favorites.

mewithoutYou- Probably the most unique band to ever be on Tooth & Nail. Even though they may have lost fans along the way, they aren't afraid to do what is on their hearts, and what they are currently passionaite about. You've gotta play what you want to play, otherwise it will be half-hearted. This is why they are still around. In the end, it works out.

Emery- Every release has been great. Basically the same situation as mewithoutYou, except not near as drastic. One of the best live shows you could see. Even outside of T & N, they are one of my top 5 favorites of all time. I still believe they can do even more, and even better. So I will be interested in them for years to come.

There it is!

How would yours go?

I haven't really heard of those bands except like one song by Ivoryline and Bleach. But I think Family Force 5 is on Tooth and Nail and I really really really like them.

You are a genius Clint.

I basically love everyone in your lineup...except I have never listened to anything by Bleach :/ I LOVE Secret & Whisper though, I would stick them in there somewhere.

Children 18:3 puts on an awesome live show. They were one of the best groups I saw at Hills Alive a few weeks ago, and they were only on the smaller stage. They would be an opener, but definitely a good one.
If I could dream at all, it would be about you.

(I typed something out for this a while ago and it messed up and didn't get posted.)

Openers:
-Poema. I love that band so much. They only have an EP out right now, but they are pretty talented. Their songs are pretty fun, but not everyone would like them. They are definitely more of a band for girls than guys, although there are lots of guys who like them.
-Ivoryline. I've seen these guys before and they put on a great show. They are a really solid band and I have a lot of respect for them in their lyrics. They also have a great new CD out now.

Headliners:
-Children 18:3. I saw them at Creation '09 after becoming a big fan of their CD. They did a tour that had three shows in Washington, but the two close to me were on nights I couldn't go. Instead of missing out, my friend and I drove 4 hours and spent the night down near Portland so that we could see them. It was SO worth it. They put on an amazing show and just have fun on stage. Their drummer is ridiculously talented, too.
-As Cities Burn. They honestly are (were) an incredible band. Every album they have released is different than the previous, but not in a bad way. Their lyrics are really searching. I just plain love them. I never got to see them live, either.
-Mae. This band isn't broken up, but I wouldn't want them with the lineup and albums they currently have. I honestly don't like anything they released before or after The Everglow. That album, however, is one of my all-time favorites. I still love listening to it. Seeing them perform those songs live would be great.
-The Classic Crime (main headliner). I have seen these guys live many times as they are from Seattle. In fact, I saw them 4 or 5 times last year alone. I really respect them as musicians. They put out a lot of great music and I wish more people could hear it. They are one of my top 10 or 15 favorite bands (which is a big deal for me, haha) so I am always looking for them to get new fans.

So there you go!
Love with all you have like you don't have a clue what its costing you.
